The motion for the agenda was brought to a vote in the Israeli parliament and passed by a majority of votes. In order for it to enter into the force two more votes are required going forward. Next week as the Kurdish community we will be presenting to the committee the atrocities committed against the Kurds and our position that our Kurdish brothers and sisters must be helped. Morally, and strategically Israel must step up. The fight continues both in Kurdistan and abroad. ​It was clarified that protecting the Kurds is a distinct Israeli security interest, as they serve as a stabilizing factor against the radical axis of Iran, Turkey, and Sunni Jihadist elements.

​3. Obligation for Political Action

​Alongside the moral obligation, Israel calls for breaking the silence of the international community and Western nations regarding these ongoing crimes.

​It was decided to examine practical steps—both diplomatic and advocacy-related—to raise this issue on the global agenda and exert pressure to prevent the continuation of the genocide.

​The Bottom Line: The efforts of Yehuda Ben Yosef and of our Kurdish community have succeeded in transforming the Kurdish cry for help into an official and binding political document of the Israeli Knesset.
